Learning, Thinking, Education

It's extremely valuable to understand how we come to learn things, how this learning is passed on, and what dynamics impact the effectiveness of this.  The formal fields of Epistemology (the theory of knowledge), Psychology (the study of mental processes and behaviors), and Education (the formal and informal mechanisms related learning) explore these issues. Additionally, a fair amount of research has been conducted in the context of business schools related to organizational learning and leadership which may be found in my enterprises pages.

My understanding of how we learn and grow is still very much in development. I have just recently started to investigate this with any rigor. So far, I have found ideas expressed by Parker Palmer to be very close to my unexamined model of learning and teaching. I have also found Donald Schon to be particularly interesting and insightful, as well as Michael's Polanyi's writings about tacit knowledge.
